Hello! This is our sweet cat Winslow. We adopted him and his brother in 2019 from best friends animal society. Within a few weeks of bringing him home we started noticing urine spots around the house and that he was feeling very ill and not himself. We took him to the emergency vet where they diagnosed him with a UTI and crystals in his bladder. We focused our next few weeks working on helping him heal and get better but shortly saw he was getting worse and worse. After thousands and thousands of dollars, multiple different vets and vet appointments, we finally learned that he has a patent urachus. Basically he leaks urine from his belly because after utero his urachus never closed like it does with most babies. He has spent the last 4 years in constant unease trying to clean himself and licking his belly raw to the point where we have to put a cone on him when we are not around.
Thankfully this can be repaired through a simple surgery and we are looking to get it scheduled as soon as possible so he can be comfortable and less anxious for the first time in his whole life. This surgery is estimated to cost anywhere between $3,000-$4,200. This money that we raise would go directly to fund the surgery. He is the sweetest and we just want to provide him with the best life and a chance to have a normal life.
