My husband Arland Paul passed away October 23, 2025 unexpectedly. I tried to wake him up and he wouldn't respond. Arland was hospitalized in late September 2025 with congestive heart failure. Upon his release six days later, he had a treatment plan for controlling CHF, including seeing a cardiologist regularly and closely monitoring his swelling. Three weeks later he passed away in his sleep. I'm heartbroken. Our dog Rapunzel adored Arland and has been sleeping a lot and senses the loss. Navigating this alone is tough. Most of Arland's friends and remaining brother are in Texas and Colorado. It makes this situation so much harder to bear. Community Funeral Chapels in Bridgeport, CT has Arland and will be doing the cremation. We had planned on moving back to Colorado once his CHF was under control and we're financially ready. I am planning on moving back to Colorado soon as I can and have plans to scatter some of his ashes in a beautiful spot called Baker's Bridge. I'm asking for donations to cover the cremation and to help me with living expenses for a while. Since I am on disability, I can file for survivor benefits but it will take a while with the shutdown. Anything will help because I truly need help with this. Anyone interested in direct contact with the funeral director, the number is (203)334-9999 and her name is Brenda Ortiz. Arland will be greatly missed by the many friends that knew him, whether old friends or new ones. Life is short and gone in an instant. I will forever miss my husband, my best friend. His humor, his determination and even stubbornness. Please pray for his soul and for us because the road will be long.
