Update: My sister passed on 12/16/25 and I want to use the funds raised to support her husband and children as they readjust to the changes. My sister was a stay at home mom so now her husband will have to figure out childcare when he returns to work and learn how to be a single dad while grieving the loss of his wife. Any help is appreciated.
Update: My Sister has been approved for insurance that will cover a transplant. However the cost out of pocket is high even with insurance for the procedure and insurance is $689 monthly. So the goal has been reduced to 20k from 300k in order to cover the cost of insurance, the procedure and after treatment care for approximately a year or until she is approved for Medicare, SSI and/or Medicaid. Please consider contributing any amount every $1 counts. We appreciate your help especially during this time as my sister will be away from home and her children for a few months including the holidays and this is a huge financial strain on their family.
💔 Urgent Help Needed to Save My Sister Kayla’s Life
My name is Sonya Cochran, and I am fundraising for my sister, Kayla Cochran, a 34-year-old wife and mother of five who is currently fighting for her life at Emory University Hospital in the Critical Care Unit.
Kayla is in urgent need of a liver transplant. Her medical team has made it clear that without a transplant, there is no chance of survival. Every minute matters, and we are doing everything in our power to save her life.
Right now, Kayla is uninsured.
She has applied for Medicaid, but approval may take up to 3 months—time she absolutely does not have. I am working to enroll her in Marketplace insurance to speed things up, but there is no guarantee it will be processed in time.
This financial gap is creating a barrier between Kayla and the lifesaving transplant she needs immediately.

Kayla is the loving wife and mother of five young children who need their mother home, healthy, and alive. She is strong, caring, and deeply loved by everyone who knows her.
🙏 How You Can Help
We are raising funds to help cover:
•Emergency medical costs
•Hospital care during the transplant evaluation period
•Costs associated with securing the transplant while insurance is pending
•Support for her children during this unimaginable crisis
Any amount you can give—no matter how small—will make a real difference.
If you aren’t able to donate, sharing this page and prayer means the world to us.
