I met this mother of a child lost to gun violence today via phone conversation. And we talked on the phone like we’ve been knowing each other all of our lives. She is a joy! She lost her son 2 years ago to gun violence. And has started a grief support group called M.O.N.T.R.E.A.L Resource Center for mothers like her. I talked her into to saying a few words at the event. I said look out into the audience and you’ll see a reflection of you and what you’re going through and went through. She said because us mothers need all the support we can get.
