We are raising money for a wonderful family that has been carrying a financial burden that has simply become too much to handle alone.
They are a hardworking family with children who have faced several frightening medical emergencies over the past few years. One experience in particular is something no parent should ever have to go through.
While the family was grocery shopping one Sunday, their young son—who had been running a fever—suddenly began having a seizure in the store.
An ambulance was called, and the situation was serious enough that he had to be LifeFlighted by helicopter to the hospital.
When he arrived, he suffered another seizure. Doctors ran numerous tests and eventually determined that he had COVID accompanied by an extremely high fever. After several days in the hospital, he was finally able to return home.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of their medical scares.
More recently, their son suffered another seizure at home. This time, he remained unconscious even after paramedics arrived. His mother rode with him to the hospital while his father rushed from work to meet them there.
She remembers the incredible relief she felt when her little boy finally opened his eyes, saw his father, and said one word: "Daddy."
Thankfully, their son recovered, but the financial impact of these emergencies has not gone away.
Between hospital stays, ambulance transportation, LifeFlight, medical care, and other debts accumulated while simply trying to provide for their children, this family is now facing nearly $46,000 in debt—with additional hospital and ambulance bills still needing to be paid.
They aren't looking for luxuries. Right now, their income goes toward keeping a roof over their children's heads, putting food on the table, and paying whatever they can toward the debt.
They have worked incredibly hard to take care of their family, but this is one of those moments when they could use some people standing beside them.
Our goal is to help relieve as much of this medical and financial burden as possible so they can stop worrying about how they will ever catch up and focus on what matters most—their children and their family's health.
