Help my daddy and recent Grandpa fight stage 4 non-small lung cancer. My dad worked as a painter for the last 50 years. Since he was 16 years old he has been on his own working at least 5 days a week as a commercial and residential painter. May 2026 his and our life would change forever. Dad went to work even though he’d been having a difficult time breathing for the last few months. He went to the doctors multiple times and was given antibiotics. He kept working thinking each day he may get better. Then one Friday he went to work as he had everyday and ended up in the ER. The doctors drained over 2 liters of fluid from his lungs and we unfortunately got the diagnosis. He’s been battling the last few months, on oxygen and a collection of meds, along with chemo. As some of you can imagine, you’re working one day and then boom, life flips upside down. He was walking up ladders and carrying 5 gallon buckets of paint to not being able to walk very far without oxygen. I know a major stress is his rent and bills at home. I try to ease his anxiety of money but the bills still come. Anyone who has dealt with medical issues such as this knows how expensive treatments, medicine, and on top of that not being able to work. This is something we’d never do ask others for help but at this point anything will help with the burden. Our hope is to help give him some money to pay rent for at least 2 months so he doesn’t have to worry about losing his apartment or having to relocate away from his doctors. He recently became a grandpa and as you see in the picture that’s his light. I could have chose one of his pictures doing chemo or in the hospital but I want you to see the moments where he’s not a cancer patient but a Dad and Grandpa. He’s doing all he can to fight the cancer and we want to do all we can to ease his financial stress.
If anyone has watched their dad hold their baby son and had to have a thought that he won’t get that again you know where I’m coming from. Please donate or send prayers for Rodger has he embarks on this journey. Anything will help. My hope is I can provide him with a few months to focus on healing rather than how he will pay the bills. We appreciate you taking the time to read this and also pray for everyone else in this situation. Thank you in advance!
