I am a recovering addict, with 4 years of sobriety. I lost custody of my 3 sons in September of 2019, and have been fighting a never ending battle to get them home where they belong. I have complied with all court orders. The tricky part is my boys live in the state of NC and I live in NY. My county court dismissed my case claiming lack of jurisdiction due to my kids living in NC for more than 6 months. My struggle is that the state of NC does not provide court appointed attorneys for custody battles. After making several calls to lawyers in NC its been concluded that i cannot afford to pay for a lawyer out of pocket. I need some help. My boys have been living with their paternal grandparents since December of 2019. And ive been refused visits with them. And been limited on phone calls in the last 3 years. Ive now been pretty much cut off from all contact with my kids since March of 2022. No matter the effort i put in its never enough. My kids are being told that I've given up on them, and that couldn't be any further from the truth. I just want my kids home where they belong, they now have a baby brother that they have every right to know and their grandparents are preventing that from happening. I want all my kids under one roof! Attorney fees are $8000 with a required $5000 retainer. We reached our initial goal of $5000 for the retainer fee. I will be able to make payments on the remaining $3000 balance so I am keeping this open for further donations!  Please share this and help this lonely momma bring her babies back home!
