My name is Matthew, my friends call me Matty. I'm currently out of work and bills are still rolling in. I live alone in an apartment-like extended stay hotel (with utilities, it is cheaper than apartment leases and doesn't have the usual 2.5x income to rent requirement.) Room mates aren't really an option due to mental health issues.
At the end of June, after 6 years, I was wrongfully terminated from Amazon due to a negative UPT error management and HR refused to fix. Then they just didn't show for my appeal. Attempts at collecting unemployment failed, though that wouldn't have even covered my rent anyways. Thankfully, I had some savings, enough to hold me over while I look for a new job, but that well is about empty now.
The job hunt hasn't gone well so far, I've had a few interviews, even a promising second interview, but no job offers. Admittedly, I've mostly been just slinging my resume around job sites so far as that worked really well when I moved out to Arizona a little over 6 years ago. And July broke temperature records, not a day under 110°F.
Didn't help that I have avoided fast food, gas stations, walmart, and temp agencies up to this point, but that pickiness is out now. My only real constraint is that the job has to be close enough to walk or bike, preferably in under an hour as I don't have a car.
While I expand and continue my search, I'm asking for some help in keeping a roof over my head, mostly so I can stay clean and neat for the interviews and job. I keep my monthly expenses low, $1350 covers a month of rent if paid in full. Weekly is $351.
The goal doesn't need to be reached for me to access the donations, so every bit helps. If you donate and I'm able to contact you, your help will be paid back as fast as possible.
I'm grateful for any help, though if you have a family to support, keep it for them, I'm just some guy.
