We first found Sammy outside an apartment building. He was weak, exhausted, and clearly in need of help. His face was badly inflamed, and the condition of his mouth made it difficult and painful for him to eat. We could not leave him there, so we took him to a veterinary clinic, where his long road to recovery began.
Veterinary testing showed that Sammy is FeLV-positive. He was also diagnosed with bartonellosis and needed medication, treatment, and careful veterinary monitoring.
His recovery has not been easy, but Sammy has remained incredibly gentle and trusting throughout every examination and procedure.
We have already helped him through a large part of his treatment. His bartonellosis has been treated, his overall condition has improved, and he finally has more strength. Looking at him now, it is difficult to believe how sick he was when we first found him.
But Sammy still has one major stage of treatment ahead of him.
His remaining teeth are severely diseased and are expected to need removal. Sammy is scheduled to see a veterinary dentist soon. His treatment may include a dental examination, pre-operative bloodwork, anesthesia, tooth extractions, medication, and follow-up care.

Without proper dental treatment, Sammy may continue to experience pain and difficulty eating. We want to give him the comfort he deserves and the chance to enjoy his food without suffering.
All funds raised through this campaign will be used for Sammy’s veterinary treatment and recovery.
Your donation will help cover:
his veterinary dental examination;
bloodwork and preparation for anesthesia;
the removal of his diseased teeth;
pain medication and post-operative care;
follow-up veterinary appointments.
Sammy has already overcome so much. Please help him complete this important stage of his recovery and begin living without constant pain.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will bring him closer to the treatment he needs. Sharing Sammy’s story would also mean more than we can express.
Thank you for giving Sammy the chance to heal and feel comfortable again.
