I, Elizabeth, was contacted by my friend Saleh in Al Shati camp in Gaza City with the urgent plea to raise funds to provide freshwater to his community. With the complete israeli siege surpassing the 4 month mark, the level of famine gripping Gaza Strip is having dire consequences with people passing out and dying from thirst, hunger, and bombs.
Please contribute to and share this campaign to help alleviate the suffering of people being subjected to genocide in Gaza. The water will be delivered from a water desalination plant inside of Gaza.
$550-600 will provide 3000 liters of freshwater to residents of his neighborhood (this number was revised after further discussions between Elizabeth and Saleh. The truck itself will cost $300, and there is a 40-50% withdrawal rate in Gaza (depending on the day), totaling $420-$450. In addition to that, Spotfund charges for every donation 2.9% + 30 cents domestic, and 3.9% + 30 cents international. The method we use to transfer money to Gaza also costs approximately 10%. While the cost of the water trucks is unacceptably high, people in Gaza deserve water.
Please continue to demand that the siege on Gaza be broken and the genocide ended.
Photographic proof will be provided with the completion of delivery of each truck.
