elp Us Find Out What's Wrong With Ricki
Meet Ricki, our sweet girl.
Asking for help is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I'm a single mom, and over the past several months I've spent thousands of dollars trying to figure out what is happening to Ricki. I've done everything I can on my own, but we've reached a point where I simply can't do it alone anymore.
Ricki's behavior has changed dramatically. She tears up carpet and furniture, cannot be safely kenneled without severely hurting herself, and has even broken four teeth trying to escape her kennel. At first, we thought it might be a training issue, so I invested thousands of dollars working with a professional dog trainer. After spending time with Ricki, the trainer also believes this is not a behavioral problem, but something neurological.
Our veterinarian has recommended an MRI to determine what's causing these changes. The hope is that it will give us answers and tell us whether Ricki has a brain tumor, canine cognitive dysfunction (dog dementia), or another neurological condition. Right now, we're being forced to make impossible decisions without knowing what's actually wrong.
I've reached out to rescues, hoping someone might be able to help, but no one has been able to take her. The truth is, I don't want to give her up. I love her, and if there's a chance to diagnose and treat what's happening, I want to fight for her.
The cost of the MRI, ongoing veterinary care, and repairing the damage caused by her condition has become overwhelming. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward Ricki's medical care and diagnostic testing.
If you would prefer to donate directly to Ricki's veterinary clinic instead of through GoFundMe, we completely understand and truly appreciate it.
