On Sept 19 my son was hit by a SUV while crossing inside a crosswalk on his bike. Light was red and the person hit him and kept going. She never came back to check on him 😞 She was arrested the following week with no license or insurance. It’s now 3 weeks later and Jordan’s other injuries are healing but his #9 tooth needs a root canal. Jordan has never had even as much as a filling so hearing he needs a root canal is scary! My son has been through hell the past 3 weeks, aside from his injuries he missed 2 weeks of school (he gets awards for not missing school) and he also missed homecoming! Jordan is a SHS wrestler and they are currently doing open mats which he is unable to participate in until his tooth is fixed. Jordan wants to be sedated or at the very least get gas. He deserves to get that, this kid has been through hell! The insurance he has only covers A few places in town, bright now dental (which everyone knows how they are) and I asked about sedation or gas and paying out of pocket and they said no. We went to family health in Norwalk and they referred him to case western and they will give him gas but are booked out until February! I’ve called others out of town on his insurance and have had no luck they either will not sedate or are booked out. The only way is to pay for the procedure in full by cash. He deserves to get this fixed asap and get his confidence back and be pain free. If we wait until Feb he will not be able to wrestle this season and he lives and breathes wrestling and he’s in pain every day! Please no negative comments, this is hard enough for me to do but several people have offered to donate on fb if I did this and Jordan is ok with it. I will update the goal amount Monday when I speak to other dentists and if we collect more than that is needed I will gladly refund it. Thank you, Anika (mom)
