I'm a survivor of sex assault and anyone who is familiar, knows there are a multitude of repercussions for the victim that last a lifetime if not treated.  My voice was silenced when I was a child trying to look for help.  The effects still haunt me.  Not just the initial event, but the trauma of being silenced by those who should have gave me a voice.  The trauma of accepting cruelty. We need a voice just like anyone else
