Hi, my name is Jazmine!
Over the past three years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to compete in the National American Miss (NAM) pageants — something I never expected to do! I actually went to the open call as a joke, but just two days later, I received a message saying I had been selected as a state finalist.
In July 2023, I competed at the Ohio State Pageant in Columbus and placed:

👗 2nd Runner-Up in Casual Wear Modeling
Those placements qualified me to represent my city at the National American Miss National Pageant as a City Queen! At Nationals, I competed in optional contests and for the All-American Queen title. Although it was my very first time on the national stage, I proudly placed 11th overall in Casual Wear Modeling!
This experience has completely changed my life. I’ve grown in ways I never thought possible. I’ve become confident in public speaking, stepped out of my comfort zone, and learned how to present myself professionally. I never imagined I’d be a “pageant girl,” but here I am — and I love it!
About NAM:
This pageant is not about beauty — it’s about confidence, public speaking, and personal development. The required areas of competition include:

Interview – where I sat down with five judges one-on-one and answered questions like, “What’s your favorite color?” (My answer: “Yellow, because it reminds me of the sun on a summer day.”)

Formal Wear Presentation
For the Best Resume award, I had to write about my interests, goals, and achievements. One question asked: “What would you do if crowned State Queen?”
Here’s what I said:
“I would inspire other girls to believe in their beauty and ability to accomplish anything they set their minds to. I want to help others overcome fear and anxiety by showing them that confidence is possible when you work hard at something you love.”
This journey has helped me grow in confidence not just on stage, but in everyday life. I now dream of becoming a professional model, and NAM has opened that door for me.
I’ve also recently turned 19 and have officially started college as an Education major. I love learning and plan to pursue a career where I can guide and empower others. I’m also learning to play several musical instruments as a creative outlet.
