I am reaching out today to ask for your help for a wonderful woman, Monica, and her family as they grieve the loss of her 34-year-old son, Keoshan.
I’ve been speaking with Monica over the last few days, helping her submit a life insurance claim for Keoshan. He had his policy for almost 2 years, but because we were just 1.5 months away from the 2-year mark, the insurer is investigating it. This is standard legal procedure for insurance companies, and while Monica is going to receive the death benefit, the review means it will take 30 days or more for the check to arrive. Here is the urgent crisis: Monica and her family have to come up with over $8,000 by next Wednesday to cover the funeral home costs and give Keoshan a proper burial.
Monica has been a wonderful client of mine—I’ve been honored to help her protect about 10 of her family members (She has 6 children) with life policies. She has an incredible heart but has a devastating amount on her plate right now. Some of you might remember that just two months ago, I posted a fundraiser for her when her other son, Achivali, was on life support in the hospital. She is truly going through the unthinkable.
Because Keoshan was a Type 1 diabetic with a history of severe complications like diabetic coma, it was incredibly hard to find an insurer that would approve him. I was so thankful when we finally secured this coverage. The finish line is in sight for Monica, but she needs a bridge to get there. If you can find it in your heart to donate and help her cover these immediate burial costs by next Wednesday, I know she and her family will be eternally grateful.
