I am Barbara Papp (80 years old) and my husband is Richard Papp (76 years old).We are an elderly couple living on Social Security income. Our home is a ranch style condo purchased 23 years ago with funds from insurance after one of our sons died. We have a reverse mortgage on it to help supplement our income.
In February my husband was arrested for child molestation and has been in detention for 5 months. We have spent over $23,000 on lawyers and he doesn't even have bond.
We have reviewed the evidence against him and there is nothing. The medical exam of our granddaughter shows nothing either. All the prosecution seems to have is her testimony. We feel he is being treated very unfairly and we would like to hire a new lawyer who says he believes he can get my husband exonerated. He is one of the best in the state and comes with a $75000.00 fee.
I am presently fighting cancer and my husband has liver problems. His is not being treated. According to the new lawyer the prosecution could drag a trial well into 5-6 years from now. We don't have that long.
