My name is Gerard, and I am a father fighting not to disappear from my child’s life.
For years, I have lived with the constant ache of not knowing where my child is, how they are doing, or when I will hear their voice again. Since 2020, communication has been repeatedly cut off—phone numbers changed, contact information entered incorrectly, and messages left unanswered. There have been long stretches where the only way I could even confirm my child’s location was through attorneys and public records.
No parent should have to hire a lawyer just to know where their child is.
I carry this weight every day. I wake up wondering if my child thinks I stopped trying. I go to sleep replaying memories and fearing the ones I’m missing—birthdays, holidays, ordinary moments that mean everything to a parent. The silence has been painful, and the distance has been heartbreaking.
I have done everything I can to handle this the right way. I work hard. I show up. I follow the law. But doing the right thing comes at a heavy cost. Legal fees, filings, travel, and ongoing court expenses have created a financial strain that has pushed my family to the edge. At times, even extended family has been pulled into the situation, adding more stress and heartache.
Still, I refuse to give up.
I am not fighting out of anger—I am fighting out of love. I believe my child deserves to know that their father never walked away, never stopped caring, and never stopped fighting for them.
Every donation will go directly toward legal costs and related expenses so I can continue pursuing fair access, communication, and stability for my child’s future. Your support helps me stay in this fight when the emotional and financial toll feels overwhelming.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page or keeping my family in your prayers. Knowing that others see me, believe me, and stand with me gives me strength on the days when this battle feels unbearable.
Thank you for reading my story. Thank you for helping a father hold onto hope.
