My wife, Akemi, passed away of liver cancer in 2024 and my life has been in a downward spiral ever since. Without going into all the details, I'm broke and on the verge of homelessness now. Our landlord has informed us (my two young adult sons and I) that she wants to sell the condo we've been renting and we have about five weeks to find a new place to live. The boys and I have decided that splitting up is the only way forward for us. My younger son has found a place to rent with coworkers and my older son has a plan in progress, but with about five weeks to go, the pets and I have no place to go and not enough money to pay move in and rental fees. Right now, we're in the process of donating and throwing out everything we own, and we're praying for a miracle to get through this next stage in our lives.
