On May 20th, Ty’s world turned upside down in a matter of seconds. She lost her balance while pumping gas and fell, resulting in several fractured bones and a severe injury to the Lisfranc tendon in her right foot (The Lisfranc ligament is critically important because it acts as the primary stabilizer to the entire foot. Damage to the ligament can result in permanent damage and walking ability)
Ty has already gone through and continues to face many months of recovery, and there's a possibility she may never regain full mobility again. This unexpected accident has been both physically and emotionally overwhelming for Ty and her son Alex, who at 13 has had to be a caregiver for his mother.
As many of you know, Ty’s financial livelihood has been dependent on her Massage Therapy career, a career that she has dedicated years to helping others deal with pain relief and a better quality of life. Being that she was self employed, she can not receive any financial benefits. With Ty unable to walk, drive or work, her and Alex are in a challenging situation and are seriously close to losing their apartment. She has already been without income since May and has survived on donations from a local church. She now needs immediate support to cover the cost of rent and living expenses during her recovery.
We’re hoping to raise $5,000 to help Ty focus on healing without added stress.
Every day is a struggle, and the future feels uncertain, but with your support, we can get Ty back on her feet (or one foot at least!). Our immediate concern is ensuring Ty and Alex don’t lose their home during this already tumultuous time.
