Hello!
This March I will be traveling to Uganda with the Sudreau Global Justice Institute at Pepperdine to work on a prison project.
A team of lawyers and law students are going to partner with Uganda and provide representation to people who are in prison and cannot afford a lawyer. In Uganda, there is no public defender system like in the United States, so oftentimes countries face a case backlog in their courts and oftentimes innocent people sit in jail for years based on a crime they did not commit.
This spring we will be working on plea bargaining negotiations in Uganda to help create an equitable justice system.
It will be my 4th time traveling to Uganda and I can’t wait to be back!
