Hi everyone! We are currenty raising money for our new independent comedy short film "Couldn't Be Me"!

The Story

When three friends find their frat brother dead in the house, they turn against each other to figure out who killed him.

At its core, this film is a fast paced comedy mystery packed with surprises. As three friend try to solve the mystery, their relationships begin to unravel in absurd ways.

Beyond the laughs, the story explores how perception, assumptions, and bias can shape the way people experience the same event. Also touching on the injustices that are overlooked and are swept under the rug. By blending comedy with social commentary, the film invites audiences into the conversation while enjoying a fun mystery.

The Team

Director and Producer: Devin Saddler

Devin Saddler is a film director, writer, and producer whose work blends emotionally driven storytelling with genre-bending and socially conscious narratives. He made his directorial debut with The Emotion (2021), a psychological thriller that won Best Thriller Short Film at the Culver City Film Festival. Saddler followed with Kickback Karma (2023), an experimental short that garnered tens of thousands of views across social platforms, further showcasing his visual storytelling style. His latest film, Find Your Heart (2025), is a romantic thriller exploring love, mortality, and healthcare disparities. The film has been selected by multiple festivals, including the Marina del Rey Film Festival, INDIE FILM LA, and TRILLVISION Film Festival. A graduate of Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, Saddler continues to develop character-driven films that merge cinematic genre storytelling with meaningful social themes.

Writer and Producer: Rhyan Hill

Rhyan Hill is an actor, producer, writer, and choreographer from Los Angeles. He began working in the entertainment industry at the age of seven, and since then has built a diverse career in both performance and storytelling. As a performer, he has worked with artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino, while also acting in acclaimed television and film projects including Michael (2026), Lovecraft Country (2020) and Grey's Anatomy (2022). In 2026, his first short film Hit Men (2026) which he directed, wrote, and produced, won Best Story at the Sunset Film Festival. The film was also selected for IndieX Film Fest and became a semifinalist for Best Comedy and Best First-Time Director at Indie Short Fest. Rhyan is continuing his journey behind the camera as, where he is pursuing his goal of creating stories that are meaningful, heartfelt, and inspiring.

Producer: Tracey Gibbs

Tracey Gibbs is a film producer dedicated to archiving the past and present through culture, stories, and voices. Originally from Pasadena, CA, Gibbs is drawn to narratives that resonate emotionally and authentically with audiences, producing work that spans intimate dramas, music videos, and brand storytelling. A 2025 graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts with a BFA in Film and Television Production, her credits include The Custodian (Beverly Hills Film Festival 2026, Watson Film Festival, Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival, Life Fest LA), Coach's Office (Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival 2025), and Hill Boy (NFFTY 2026). She also served as Associate Producer on Barbershop, a finalist in the Doritos Super Bowl Commercial Competition. Gibbs currently works at CAA as an assistant in the Unscripted department.
