Life has a funny way of reminding us to stay humble and be appreciative of every day we have on this earth. Shantell has always been truly appreciative especially after finding cancer. In December 2021 a mass was found on her thyroid. An ultrasound and biopsy were done to determine the extent of the mass. On February 28th Shantell under went surgery to remove not only the tumor but part of the thyroid as well. She healed well and three months later the cancer had been found in lymph nodes. On June 8th an even more invasive surgery was done to remove 24 spots from the neck including the remaining half of the thyroid. Over half of those came back positive for papillary thyroid cancer. After two months on a strict low iodine diet radioactive iodine treatment was done. That meant a full week isolated from friends and family. Only last week did we find out that the treatment didn't work and more cancer was found. This cancer is aggressive but we will not give up! Shantell unfortunately has been out of work for months between surgery's and radiation. With more treatment needed and unexpected circumstances ahead, the future is unclear. We appreciate everything that everyone has done. The support has been overwhelming. Thank you a thousand times. Stay well ❤️
