I started my new chemo treatment cycle today! 🙌🙌

I walked in like healing was mine because it IS! Yesss!!! Praise the Lord! 

.

I met with my Naturopathic Doctor (ND) as well to set up my plan of action for this next treatment cycle and new drugs. The main role of my ND is to help with guidance on reducing or eliminating side effects that could interfere with treatment and protect my body from the drugs as much as possible. I'm learning so much through this process and hope it will help others who may know someone struggling or need a bit of encouragement.

Did you know? Certain chemo drugs that have been known for causing heart issues like heart failure is due to the drug stripping CoQ-10 from the heart?  Did you know that if this nutrient is replaced by supplements the heart absorbs it phenomenally well and helps to avoid this issue altogether?

I see so many struggle with the side effects and treatments not knowing some of the things I'm learning. So far, I have been able to greatly reduce and in some cause totally eliminate symptoms with this integrative approach. The other thing is I am always locked and loaded with education!  The real stuff, not Google University (so refreshing).

Many Oncologists either prescribed another drug to help the symptoms (which kinda works, and kinda doesn't) or just informs patients it's part of the process.  Sorry! I don't want to be bent over the toilet day in and out with nausea.  ND what must I do to avoid this?  These are the sort of questions I ask.

When my ND tells me this drug does this "thing" commonly.  I ask okay what do I need to do to offset that "thing".

The nice part is that my ND has this wealth of knowledge that steers me clear away from these things should they rise their ugly heads. And, everything is based on heavily documented case studies and research. So again, no Google University.

Week #5 of my chemo and have had great progress with my naturopathic basket of goodies to curve or limit my side effects.

This week my taste buds were a little funky so I start taking my Zinc chewable.  This helps to re-establish taste so I can actually enjoy food!  The chemo drugs strip Zinc so replacing it means replacing my taste. I also started using Castor Oil daily on my back mainly.  This combats the achiness that the drugs cause and allows me to be free from the back pain. It's worked really well!

Labs came back great today and I'm in an upward swing. No surprise because God's got my back!

Hey there!  Been a minute since I posted an update so wanted to be sure to do that today.  August and September have been a whirlwind of emotions and challenges.  I was recently discharged from the hospital and continuing on my healing journey.  

The good news is that I am continuing to move forward with positive health progress each and every week.

The swelling in my breast that was responsible for the excruciating pain has subsided greatly and both my conventional and naturopathic care has been supporting me very well.

One of the main things that I chose to do during this journey is to have not only my Medical Oncologist but also my Naturopathic Doctor that specialized specifically in oncology.  With this care, I am able to have natural supplements on standby for any side effect that may arise and continue care within the naturopathic space afterward to prevent recurrence.

I learned that the chemo drugs (although low dose), that I'm on filters primarily through the liver so I'm now taking a daily, multi-dosage of Milk Thistle Seed to protect and support my liver. This supplement is the same supplement that can turn around liver function proven through test results within a week period. I decided to be proactive with this and start now so I didn't have to risk the health of my liver or have any issues.

My test results each week continue to come back better and better as I go through treatment.  Thanking God for that.

Wanted to add some photos to the last update of the week.

Today, I had IV Vitamin C and PEMF therapy (Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field) from my GSFE sister Joan Wakeland.  Such a blessing!  She brought me a mustard seed of faith gift as well.  Once again, a reminder of who God is in every season.

I am truly blessed to have such wonderful souls in my life.

IV Vitamin C had me sleeping like a baby in the recliner at the center for nearly 2 hours.  I could really feel the difference and healing taking place. My wound also exhibited signs of additional healing afterward. PEMF will help with cell dysfunction and circulation of the good stuff to help my body heal itself.  I'll be doing this several times per week just like the doctor ordered.
