Fatima Ahmed has experienced unimaginable hardship over the past two years surrounded by genocide and war crimes in Gaza. Her husband was killed and their house destroyed early on. Fatima has faithfully worked reaching out to her now strong community for help to support her children and her parents. They have had many scares.
We believe a crossing will open soon and know how important Fatima's families future is to all of you. We are working now to raise money to evacuate Fatima and her family out of Gaza. We aren't sure the crossing will be open long enough to start raising when it opens, so we are proactively starting now. This fund is intentionally separate from her fund for ongoing needs. She still needs support there regularly, but this one will only be paid out when the full amount she needs is raised. If anything changes and we do not need it somehow, we will refund everything, but we are basing the anticipated amount on what was needed to evacuate through the former Rafah crossing.
