Wherever You Go 💞
My 13-year-old and I have decided to start a project together, and we're calling it CARRY HOPE: Wherever You Go.
The idea is simple: we want to create small survival and care bags for people experiencing homelessness and distribute them to people in our community who could use a little help.
Sometimes the smallest things can make someone's day a little easier. A clean pair of socks. A toothbrush. Something to eat. Basic necessities that many of us are fortunate enough not to have to think about every day.
So we're starting small and doing what we can.
Our First Goal: $500 ✨️
For our first CARRY HOPE project, we're hoping to raise $500 to create approximately 50 survival and care bags.
We're starting with gallon-size resealable bags filled with practical everyday necessities. Each bag may include things like:
• New socks
• Toothbrush and toothpaste
• Body wipes
• Deodorant
• Tissues
• Hand sanitizer
• Lip balm
• Shelf-stable snacks
• Other small necessities
My child and I will shop for the supplies, look for bulk deals, organize everything and pack each bag together.
And tucked inside every CARRY HOPE bag will be something that doesn't cost anything:
A handwritten message of encouragement.
Because this isn't only about handing someone toiletries and snacks. We want the person receiving each bag to know that someone took the time to think about them.
We're not a large organization or charity. We're simply a parent and a 13-year-old who decided that even though we can't solve homelessness, we can still do something.
We're starting with one bag.
Then another.
And hopefully, with a little help from our friends, family and community, we'll have 50 of them ready to give.
