My husband and I are facing the loss of our home. We recently moved to Toledo, hoping for a fresh start, but things quickly became difficult when my husband lost his job. I have been working, but my income alone hasn't been enough to cover all our expenses. Just as things were starting to look up—my husband found a new job—we were counting on our income tax refund to pay this month's rent and get us back on our feet. Unfortunately, the IRS took our entire refund, leaving us with nothing to fall back on.
Now, our landlord has started the eviction process by going to a lawyer. We have run out of time and options. I have experienced homelessness before, and I promised myself it would never happen again. But now, despite all our efforts, it feels like we are on the brink of losing everything. The thought of going through this again is terrifying, especially knowing that our pets, who are part of our family, would also be left without a home.
We are reaching out for help because we truly have nowhere else to turn. The funds we raise will go directly toward covering our rent for this month, giving us the chance to keep our home and avoid eviction. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are so scared, and your support—whether through a donation or by sharing our story—would mean the world to us and our pets. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any kindness you can offer.
