Survivors of domestic violence are not only left with physical and emotional scars but also face an uphill battle for justice as abusers exploit the legal system. The purpose of my fundraiser is to raise enough money for legal costs to break this circle of violence in the family justice courts.
Despite leaving my abuser to protect myself and my children, I now face a different kind of aggression: legal warfare. While securing a protection order as well as initiating attempts for settlement negotiations, my abuser will not adhere. Your support is the power I need to fight injustice and demand my rights so that I can reclaim my life. Your support allows me to go through the difficult path to recovery and move on. Your generosity will go a long way in breaking the cycle of abuse, empowering survivors, and writing a new narrative of justice concerning domestic violence.
Withdrawing all my savings and applying for my credit limit to its total capacity, I am undoubtedly left without any financial resources. However, our community can now help me. Thus, I am starting a crowdfunding campaign with t-shirts as the main selling point, and the funds collected will be dedicated to the coverage of legal costs.
