It is incredibly hard for me to ask for help. Those who know me know that I would move mountains for the people I love, and right now I am doing everything I can for the woman who first moved mountains for me.
After months of hospitalizations, countless doctor visits, and round after round of powerful antibiotics, my mom is once again facing another seven weeks of treatment. She has battled recurrent C. diff for months, and despite everything she has endured, she continues to suffer. The conversations have already turned toward fecal microbiota transplantation, and watching her health decline has been heartbreaking.
This illness has created a snowball effect. It has taken away her strength, her ability to work, her independence, and so much of the life she loves. C. diff doesn't just affect the body. It slowly steals your energy, your confidence, and your connection to the world around you.
After much reflection and many conversations, my mom has decided to give herself another chance by pursuing an integrative approach at Sandia Wellness Center in Albuquerque. There she plans to receive IV ozone therapy, autohemotherapy, and IV vitamin infusions to help restore and nourish her body after months of illness and antibiotics.
My mama is not even 60 years old.
She deserves the opportunity to fight for her health with hope, dignity, and every tool available to her.
I am personally covering the cost of her treatments because there isn't anything I wouldn't do for my sweet mama. She gave me life, and I will never stop fighting for hers. My greatest hope is simply to keep her afloat while she takes this time to heal. Between being unable to work, the cost of travel, food, lodging, and everyday expenses, this journey has become overwhelming. I also hope to stay with her during treatments so I can care for her every step of the way.
I have a large family of my own with seven dependents who rely on me, so asking for help does not come easily. I know so many families are carrying heavy burdens right now, and I understand if giving isn't possible.
But if you are able to contribute, even a small amount, it would mean more than I could ever express. Every donation, every share, every message of love, every uplifting thought, every moment you hold her in your heart, and every healing intention sent her way helps carry us one step closer to giving my mom the chance she deserves.
No matter what, I will find a way to get her the care she needs.
