The tragedy that has damaged so much of Maui, is even closer to home. Keahi, preschool teacher at Holy Cross School, her own family lives in Maui and has lost so much already. If you're able to donate to help them through this time of devastating loss.

On Tuesday, August 8, 2023, A terrible combination of drought conditions and hurricane weather led to widespread wildfires across the island of Maui. Families were forced to evacuate on short notice, many with only clothes on their backs. My parents were one of them. Unfortunately due to all the wildfires, my childhood home I’ve known for over 20 years did not make it. With little they had, my parents made it safely out and are currently staying at a hotel for the time. There is no electricity and little to known cell service due to all the damage the wildfires have caused on half the island. I am asking for anything to help my parents get back on their feet and figure out their next step. This is truly appreciated. Thank you, everyone.

Thank you everyone who has donated or shared Keahis family story, please keep spreading the love. We wanted to update you all. They’ve been able to get her grandma off the island to remain safe, while Keahis parents do what they can. The other Hawaiian islands and our community have been a big support donating supplies and clothes. Keahis parents were able to get as many supplies and clothes from shelters/Red Cross. They’re safe for now. Please keep donating or sharing our post to help them as they recover and rebuild. Much love and gratitude to you all.
