MamaJeanne

Mama Jeanne needs our help for chemo, treatment, and rehab. She kicked uterine cancer to the curb 2-3 years ago. Unfortunately, it has reappeared and she now has Stage 4 metastatic uterine cancer. She is in deep pain constantly from a large tumor/mass on her neck, and her skin has become sensitive and developed a rash surrounding the area of the mass. She has suffered multiple strokes and has been hospitalized a few times in the last couple months for these strokes. She is currently hospitalized and continues to be treated for blood clots and a pulmonary embolism as a consequence of her medical diagnosis. On top of that she has a couple of infections that are affecting her heart and lungs, including a blood infection from chemotherapy. 

 

The medicine she needs for her recovery isn't covered at all by insurance.  At the moment, this is her main need for recovery and vital that she receives it. 

 

With the pain from her mass and other symptoms, she misjudged a step and fell. This resulted in broken ribs, a deeply bruised knee (and her current hospitalization). She is being closely monitored for internal bleeding due to her blood thinners needed to prevent future strokes. Her medical bills are piling up. She is still paying on past medical bills and is struggling to find out how she will cover chemo, all the hospital bills, and her current meds. 

 

Mama Jeanne's daughter Mary is her sole provider and caretaker when she isn't hospitalized. Mary suffered a life threatening health scare herself 2 years ago and is trying to pay off those medical expenses, on top of paying for all of Mama Jeanne's. Mary's husband was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago and is unable to work right now. His treatment has also added to their medical expenses. Mary is trying to make ends meet with their rent, food, and basic needs as well as trying to care for Mama Jeanne each day. Her income alone has been stretched as much as it can and she hasn't been able to work as much as she cares for Mama Jeanne. 

 

Mary is also deaf and has been trying to save up for new hearing aids that cost around $5,000 and are not covered by insurance, but those savings have now been depleted due to all of the above. They simply can't make ends meet anymore. 

 

Mama Jeanne lights up any room she is in. Her smile alone makes you forget all the things she is suffering with at every second. She is working with occupational therapy and speech therapy everyday to regain her strength. Despite the pain that she is in constantly, she has the biggest smile and radiates joy. She amazes all with her discipline and dedication to her rehab. Please help Jeanne in any way that you can. 

 

Mama Jeanne is now on an alkaline diet to help her body fight the cancer from within. Even a little bit of money goes a long way in getting her food and the needed meals for her strength. 

 

Jeanne is hoping to recover enough (and to find the financisl support) to move back home to New Jersey. This hope is fueling her greatly.
