So many have asked how they can help so I’m making this since we are being displaced in a hotel and waiting on insurance, as well as having to pay an unexpected $2,000 for our detectable, and for food money since we’re in a hotel with no real kitchen. I hate doing this but everyone’s been asking and this is the only thing I can think of to help us out at the moment, thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU
This morning at 240 am was something out of a nightmare. Kurt smelled a burning smell but not sure. Then our bedroom door was being banged on with the handle rattling, thinking it was Lincoln I waited a minute then felt weird so I got up and checked the kids. (This was our dads 100% thank you God) kids were both asleep, mom had her door closed so I walked to the kitchen and smelled a burned electrical smell so I went in search of the smell. Saw smoke in the laundry room and opened the garage door, immediately black smoke poured out. I then ran down the hall yelling we’ve got a fire. We got the kids, animals and adults out while I called 911 thanks to Kurt yelling out to call as we were running the kids out. Lincoln and i were the only pantsless ones (i will now have an emergency bag packed at all times 🫠) mom started using the hose on it, thankfully or else half of the house would have been gone. The garage is toast.. garage door melted, the track, the button.. etc. A crap ton of Kurt’s work tools, family memorabilia, all our halloween and Christmas decor, kids birthday stuff, bikes, spare keys, part of our laundry room ceiling gone/ melted…so much stuff gone in a blink. The whole house smells like smoke, but I’m so so so thankful I got up and checked and we are all safe.
