I never thought in a million years that I would have to go through any of this. On May 20th in Antioch located in my apartment complex I was shot 3 times. The altercation started off as an innocent conversation with a parent of a group of children who were bullying my kids and the parent and I decided to let the situation go and move on. A few moments later a guy walked up to me and got really close to me almost in my face and was like “what you wanna do?” I said nothing I squashed it and my mom then told me to walk inside the house. As we all turned around to walk back towards my mom’s apartment I heard a gun shot and I was hit and instantly fell to the ground and was in a big puddle of blood. The ambulance came and took me to the hospital. I can’t disclose where I’m at because I’m under an alias here. I’m devastated this happened to me and now my kids have to see their mom go through all of this. I will be out of work and will have to go to a rehab facility soon to help me learn how to use my lower body, but what it looks like I won’t be able to walk again at all. I can’t feel anything except my arms and my upper body. I just moved from Fairfield to Antioch and I still travel back and forth for work. It’s sad I can’t even enjoy my new place cause of this unfortunate situation. We have applied for disability, the victim of a crime compensation, and my mom and boyfriend are walking to become my caregiver. In the meantime I can’t work and that means I can’t pay bills. It takes a while for all of that to kick in. So in the meantime I wanted to make a campaign to raise funds for my kids and I while I’m hospitalized. Money for rent, bills, groceries, gas so my mom can get back and forth to the hospital, and whatever else my kids might need while I’m gone. I hate to have to do this, but I know my community will pull through. If you’re not able to donate can you please share my story? Thank you and God bless you all! Keep me and my family in your prayers.
