On September 5, 2021 our grandparent's (Veronica Nevarez-Ulloa and Michael Ulloa) home was completely engulfed in flames in Atasacdero, CA. Their house was a home to 4 generations and consisted of two complete families with a total of 11 residents. The fireman at the scene told them that everything inside was destoryed and nothing could be recovered. Our dad, Ricky Nevarez, was transported to Sierra Vista Hospital because of a gash that ranged from his shoulder to his hand that may have cut an artery due to his attempt to rescue one of his brothers inside. We're currently unable to see him because of a few covid regulations and guidelines. Three family dogs died in the fire and one was transported to the Atascadero vet hospital and is currently being treated with oxygen and valium due to a siezure from the smoke inhalation. They are all currently being assisted by the American Red Cross. There home has always been the heart of the family, where gatherings took place, holidays were spent, and memories with family and friends were made. They opened their home to anyone who was in need and now it's come to a time where they need our help in return. In the home resided our grandparents (Michael Ulloa and Veronica Nevarez Ulloa), our dad (Ricky Nevarez), our great grandmother (Dolores Garcia), our cousin (Lexi Nevarez), our uncles (Manny Nevarez Ulloa, Chachi Nevarez Ulloa, and Ryan Nevarez Ulloa) as well as Ryan's wife and two kids (Nicole Hanawalt, Emma Perry, and Mia Nevarez Ulloa). Each and every one of these individuals has lost all of their belongings and have a long road to recovery, but with the help of our community, we hope to make this journey for them a little easier. Whether that be through donations or a repost, please help spread their story.
