Arafat’s Story

Arafat is 30 years old.

He is a son, a brother, and an uncle — and the primary caregiver for his family in Gaza.

Every day, Arafat wakes up with one purpose: to keep his family alive.

He cares for his father, who lives with Alzheimer’s, diabetes, and gangrene in his foot. His father needs ongoing medical attention and constant supervision. Arafat’s mother suffers from severe cartilage problems, making movement painful and difficult. He also supports his widowed sister and her two young sons, Zain and Mohammed, who depend on him completely.

Before the genocide, Arafat was a talented painter. Today, his life is devoted to protecting those he loves.

He does not ask to be pitied.

He asks not to be alone.

Your support helps cover essential monthly needs:

  • Medical care: $500
  • Shelter/rent: $400
  • Phone & internet: $100
  • Food and basic necessities

Supporting Arafat means standing beside a man who has never stopped showing up for his family, even when the world has failed them.

Thank you for seeing him with dignity.

Thank you for standing with his family.

At the end of February, Arafat lost his father after a long struggle with his health. For years, Arafat was his father’s caretaker—showing up for him every single day, carrying that responsibility with so much love. His father wasn’t just family, he was a huge part of Arafat’s daily life and purpose. That loss has left a space that can’t be filled.

And still… he has to keep going.

Now Arafat is carrying everything on his own. He’s trying to support his mother, his sister, and his nephews—while grieving someone he cared for so deeply. Rent is still owed, debts haven’t disappeared, and everyday needs like food and medicine are still urgent.

The weight of all of this is unimaginable.

The Prophet Muhammad said: “Whoever relieves a believer’s hardship in this world, Allah will relieve their hardship on the Day of Judgment.”

This is one of those moments where we can truly show up for someone who is struggling to hold everything together.

If you’ve been following Arafat’s story, please don’t stop now. Consistent support—whatever you can give—matters more than you know.

Let’s show up for him in a real, tangible way.

Arafat is doing everything he can to keep his family safe, but tonight they are facing an impossible deadline. They urgently need $400 to cover rent — just $400 standing between them and losing the little stability they have left.

In Gaza, finding shelter is already unimaginably hard. Prices have skyrocketed, safe spaces are disappearing, and every day is a fight to survive. Helping Arafat secure this month’s rent means keeping a roof over his sick father and ensuring his family has a place to sleep, rest, and stay protected.

If you’ve been meaning to help, please don’t wait. Even $5 or $10 makes a real difference when shared. Your donation today directly keeps this family housed.

💛 Please donate if you can, and share widely. Every minute counts.

Thank you for showing up for Arafat and his family in their most urgent moments.

Please Help Arafat Save His Father

Arafat is terrified he’s going to lose his father. His dad is fighting Alzheimer’s, diabetes, gangrene, and severe heart problems — conditions that require constant medication and care, none of which are consistently available in Gaza right now.

Since the announcement of the ceasefire, donations have dropped sharply. But for Arafat, nothing has changed. There is still no steady access to medicine, no safe hospitals, and no reliable aid. Every day that passes without help puts his father’s life at even greater risk.

Arafat is begging the world simply to be human — to see his father’s suffering and not look away.

Please, if you can, donate and share. Even a small contribution could mean lifesaving medicine and one more day of hope for this family.

Update: Arafat’s Father Needs Urgent Care

Arafat’s father is very sick, and medical treatment in Gaza has become nearly impossible to afford. Every day, Arafat walks from one hospital to another, trying to find medicine, doctors, and referrals — doing everything he can to ease his father’s pain and get him the care he needs.

But the costs are overwhelming. Medicine and treatment prices have soared, and on top of that, Arafat’s family is struggling to pay rent and buy food. Each day is a fight to meet their most basic needs while caring for his father.

Arafat is desperate to help but can’t do it alone. Please, if you can, donate or share this campaign. Your support can help him keep his father comfortable and his family safe through this unimaginable time.

💔 URGENT UPDATE from Gaza

Arafat is doing everything he can to keep his family alive. Many know he cares for his very sick father but few realize he’s also supporting his widowed sister and her two children, Zain and Mohammed.

Zain suffers from rheumatoid arthritis, and little Mohammed has a thyroid condition. Their bodies are weak, malnourished, and desperately need medicine.

Even with talk of “peace,” families like Arafat’s are still fighting to survive every single day through sickness, hunger, and fear.

Please, donate urgently to help Arafat get food and medicine for his family. Every dollar matters.
