Jezebelle is a pygmy goat approximately 8 years old. She is sweet, bossy, and loveable. Approximately 2 monts ago I noticed her udders appeared larger then usual and as time went on they got larger and larger the R>L. I called the vet (New Bolton) and they came out and gave her a hormone shot..it appeared that Jezzy BELIEVED she was pregnant. A week passed with no reduction in the size and she was NOT happy to be milked to decrease her discomfort. Call to the vet again. Another shot was attempted for her diagnosis of Precocious Udder. Again, no results. Sadly Jezzy will now need a double mastectomy in order to save her life. She has now developed dermatitis, without the surgery she will most likely develop mastits and ultimately sepsis and die. Our only choice is for her to have the surgery.
