Help Susan Recover After Her Life-Saving Liver Transplant

Our family is reaching out with humble hearts to ask for support for our mom, who is currently facing the biggest battle of her life.

Our mom was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease in 2024 and has spent significant time in the ICU fighting complications from this devastating illness. Through every setback, she has shown incredible strength, courage, and determination. She is a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who has always put others before herself.

On May 19, 2026, our mom, Susan, received the gift of a second chance at life through a liver transplant. While we are incredibly grateful for this miracle, her journey to recovery is far from over.

Since her transplant surgery, Susan has remained in Atlanta, Georgia, where she continues to recover under the close care of her transplant team. Although the surgery was successful, the road to healing requires ongoing medical appointments, medications, monitoring, and extended time away from home.

At 62 years old, Susan is unable to return to work while she recovers. Her husband, Billy, has remained by her side in Atlanta, since her surgery and because of this, he also has been unable to work. Our family, which is spread out across Georgia, North Carolina and Alaska, is doing everything we can to support her and help our dad, but we cannot do it alone.

As a result, the financial strain on our family has become significant. Between lost income, lodging expenses, transportation, meals, medical costs, prescriptions, and the many unexpected expenses that come with a transplant journey, the burden continues to grow.

Anyone who knows Susan knows her strength, kindness, and love for her family. She has spent her life caring for others, and now she needs the support of her community as she focuses on healing.

We are asking for help to ease the financial stress during this critical recovery period. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping Susan and Billy cover medical and living expenses while they navigate this new chapter.

If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Susan in your thoughts and prayers.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your generosity, encouragement, and support. Your kindness will help give Susan the time and peace she needs to recover and embrace the future that this transplant has made possible.

With gratitude,

Sarah & Family
