Help Us Lift the Marini Family During Brian’s Fight
There are moments in life when even the strongest families find themselves facing the unimaginable.
Our dear friends, Brian and Christina Marini, are one of those families. If you’ve had the privilege of knowing the Marinis, you know exactly who they are. They are amazing parents, friends, and are involved in their community. Brian’s dedication to youth sports has made a lasting impression on so many through his volunteering and coaching. They are both the kind of people who show up for everyone. Together they have built a beautiful life centered around hard work, kindness, family, and their community.
Last summer, Brian was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of lymphoma. After months of difficult treatment, there was reason to celebrate when he went into remission this past January. Just a few short months later, everything changed. Brian’s cancer returned, and this time it had spread to his brain. He is now facing another incredibly difficult battle under the care of his outstanding medical team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. His treatment will require lengthy hospital stays, intensive chemotherapy, stem cell transplant therapy, and weeks of recovery away from home.
While Brian focuses every ounce of his strength on fighting this disease, Christina is balancing life between the hospital and home—caring for Brian, supporting their children, continuing to work, and doing everything possible to keep life as normal as she can for their family.
Like so many hardworking families, the Marinis have always done everything “the right way.” They have worked hard, carried insurance, built careers, and never expected to ask for help. In fact, accepting help has been one of the hardest parts of this journey.
But cancer doesn’t just affect a person’s health. It brings overwhelming financial burdens that no family can truly prepare for. Insurance costs, out-of-pocket medical expenses, travel between Connecticut and Manhattan, parking, hotels, and meals away from home have quickly become a tremendous weight to carry alongside an already unimaginable emotional one.
As Brian’s closest friends, we know we cannot fight this cancer for him. That fight belongs to Brian and the incredible doctors and nurses walking beside him every day at MSK.
What we can do is help lift some of the weight from this family’s shoulders. Every donation—whether large or small—will go directly toward helping ease the financial burden of Brian’s treatment and the countless expenses that come with months of specialized care. Your generosity will allow Brian to focus on healing, Christina to focus on caring for Brian and her family while working, and their children to continue feeling the love and stability that every child deserves.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is another meaningful way to help. Every share gives this family another chance to reach someone whose kindness can make a difference.
As Brian and Christina’s lifelong friends, we want to thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and your support. We are especially grateful to the family, friends, neighbors, and community members who have already stepped in with countless acts of kindness over the past year. Together, we can remind Brian, Christina, and their children that they are not facing this fight alone.
With gratitude,
Silvia Fedell & Mia Valeri
xoxo
