Hi! I’m Kristen :) I have PCOS that was diagnosed in 2024. I thought I was one of those that didn’t get the cysts but all the other lovely symptoms. Boy was I wrong. On July 13th I found out I had a cyst after a 3d ultrasound of my uterus. July 27th I found out that it was 30cm x 20cm x 30cm, which is bigger than a basketball.
I have been feeling bloated and overall “bleh” for more than a year now. I think I had just accepted that as normal. I’m so appreciative for my new gynecologist who suggested that ultrasound!
To say that this was an unexpected situation is an understatement. Surgery is scheduled for August 11th where the cyst, an ovary, fallopian tubes, and my uterus will be removed.
I’m a mental health therapist who doesn’t have sick leave, short term disability, or enough savings to be out of work for 2+ weeks.
We have an outstanding community and a meal train is already being set up! It would also be amazing and comforting to know that our bills are taken care of so we can fully focus on recovering and not what money isn’t coming in.
