⚠️‼️⚠️UPDATE⚠️‼️⚠️: 3/30/26
Our hearts are heavy today as we update you on Alisha’s health. Just as we hoped for progress, she has hit a major setback. She is now fighting off an infection in her intestines and is being treated for five blood clots in her lungs.
Alisha is a fighter, but she shouldn't have to fight the fear of losing her home or being unable to pay her bills while she is in a hospital bed. We are asking for your help to provide her with a safety net so she can focus entirely on healing. Please consider donating or sharing this link to help Alisha stay afloat during this crisis. (Thank you, Aurora)
The Story: It’s Alisha’s Turn for a "Leg Up"
If you know Alisha, you know she’s usually the first person to sign up, show up, and step up for everyone else. She has built her life around serving others—which, ironically, is exactly what she was doing when her knee decided to go on permanent strike.
The Plot Twist: While Alisha was busy helping out at a local nonprofit event, she sustained a serious knee injury. Yes, you read that right: she literally hurt herself while trying to make the world a better place. If that isn't the most "Alisha" thing to ever happen, we don't know what is.
The Reality Check:
The surgery is essential, but the recovery is no joke. Alisha is looking at four months off work to heal and get back to full strength. As a dedicated mother and a serial volunteer, "sitting still" is already hard enough—but "sitting still without a paycheck" is a challenge she shouldn't have to face alone.
How You Can Help:
We want to make sure Alisha can focus on physical therapy and being a mom, rather than stressing over rent, groceries, and medical bills. She has spent years being the glue for so many of us; now, it’s our turn to be the support system she needs.
Our Goal Covers:
• (Necessary) 4 Months of Living Expenses: Ensuring her kids and home are taken care of while she’s off work.
• Medical Deductibles: Covering the "fun" costs of surgery and rehab.
• The "Get Back on Your Feet" Fund: Because she’s got a lot more good to do in this world!
