We are a family of six (and one cat) facing wrongful eviction and homelessness. The children are 9, 7, 6, and 3 years old. I am waiting on a response from the Texas Health and Human Services Comission about SNAP food benefits and possible TANF Cash Help but the process has been agonizingly slow. My car was totaled on May 11th so I am unable to work and make any income. If we could put together some funds, I can purchase a used car to go back to work, and I could pay the bills and buy food for the next month while we fight the eviction case in court.
