It’s a universal truth, your storage unit is creepy, cluttered, claustrophobic. You never know who is lurking about at the dark end of the hallway. You reassure yourself, what you saw was just a shadow, what you heard was creaky plumbing. But what if it was exactly what you feared all along? Yes, it’s a trap and you’re not alone.
Allison and Ted are an upwardly mobile young couple. Optimistic about life, they go to their storage unit to acquire things for their new home. Ted is not fazed by Allison’s unease, but when her curiosity leads her into a trap set by a brutal psycho, she must unlock her inner strength to fight for her life and save Ted.
THE FILMMAKERS:
Tony Kim and Loie Maxwell have been creative partners for the past five years. Both have had successful careers in advertising. Tony is based in New York and has been a fashion photographer published in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Details, and GQ. He has also taken assignments shooting celebrity portraits of Derek Jeter, Elizabeth Moss etc. Loie Maxwell has had a career as a corporate creative executive at Amazon, Target, Starbucks, Old Navy and CVS. She has developed and produced over fifty nationally broadcast commercials as well as led large creative departments producing thousands of marketing and brand assets.
As talented and accomplished creatives in their fields, the time was right to pivot. Passionate about storytelling and doing it with an elevated sense of cinematic style, Tony and Loie are pursuing projects that deliver on their vision with a serious consideration for the business practices that will lead to success in the entertainment industry.
THE OBJECTIVE:
By contributing to my fundraiser, your donation will support the filmmakers in post production for their second film STORAGE. Shot in three days, Tony and Loie have already accomplished what most studio productions do in three weeks. At this point, they need to finalize the post production and launch the film in the festival circuit. The money raised will go towards the following:
- Post production:
-
- Editing
- Score
- Sound Design
- Color
- Titles
- Trailers
THE GOAL:
Once the short is launched, our goal is to get meetings with producers and distributors who are interested in producing a feature film. The horror genre has a history of shorts being acquired for feature production (SAW, Smile) and we believe our film has the potential of become a franchise with multiple sequels. The concept is completely original and the narrative possibilities are endless.
I, Sofia, have become an executive producer on "Storage" and I am incredibly proud of the work we've done. This fundraiser was initially my birthday fundraiser, and although my birthday has passed, we have gotten so close to our goal! Every single cent counts.
We are grateful for your participation in our project and all donors will receive an invitation to a private screening in NYC or LA.
