As many of you know, I was born with a genetic kidney disease PKD. In 2015 after enduring dialysis for 7 months, I received a transplant at ECMC. I fell in love with the facility and knew that’s where I wanted to work. In 2021 I accepted a position there and it was the proudest moment of my life. It’s been a decade and unfortunately now I am officially back on the transplant list after many months of complications, sickness, and multiple infections. July 28, 2025 ECMC fired me for my illness to no control of my own, as I was protected under FMLA. My doctor, Union rep and hospital attorney are in the process of fighting this to get my job back. However, it’s caused much financial strain on my situation. I will lose my medical insurance, cost of my meds will be much higher, not to mention day to day bills. If anyone would like to donate to this temporary cause, I would be so appreciative as every little bit helps me right now.
