Hello! I am in EMS and On September 15th around 0230 in the morning we responded to a call and the patient was combative and had ended up kicking me in the face when trying to restrain the patient. After getting them to the ER I had checked into the ER. When the ER did a CT of my face they had saw she did fracture my nose which was taken care of by workers comp but they had also found a mass/lesion in my jaw. On September 30th I had surgery for my nose and they biopsied this mass and it came back as an aggressive tumor called Ameloblastoma. It was non cancerous as of right now but had the ability to turn cancerous. Surgery was scheduled and discussed and they had to do a total left mandible resection and take out 8 of my bottom teeth due to the tumor being in my jaw bone and growing up into my gums. On Friday 11/28/2025 I had a 6-7 hour procedure and had the metal jaw put in and the 8 bottom teeth removed and bone marrow from my right hip was also taken to help with making bone in my jaw grow.
I am able to get dental implants, and the drs office is working on trying to get some the implants covered when it comes time but upon speaking to my insurance myself they will not cover a lot of the cost for dental implants. And the quote I had received from the dental office was $20,000. Even though I didn’t have a choice to get these teeth removed insurance is still stating it’s cosmetic. 😒 so this was my last resort and I’m going to attempt this and if you can help out it would be greatly appreciated because all I want for Christmas are my 8 bottom teeth! 😂
thank you for taking the time to read this and Merry Christmas!
