Hi everyone—great news! Two days ago, my lawyer notified me that the Fulton County District Attorney filed a notice with the court formally declining to prosecute my case. As a result, the case has been dismissed. Of course, we are thrilled. Because there will be no prosecution, my lawyer has even refunded most of the fees he had collected. We are shutting this legal defense fund down and offering refunds.
I will be continuing - in fact, accelerating, my work on utility reform in Georgia. The heavy use of trade secrets that the PSC grants Georgia Power diminishes trust in a state agency whose job it is protect Georgians from monopoly exploitation. That needs to stop.
A refund is available to anyone who wants it since we no longer need your donation for its intended purposes. Alternatively, my nonprofit, Georgians for Affordable Energy, is underfunded, so if I may use your donation to advance our work on utility reform that would be ideal.
Please let me know which option you prefer. You can email me at patty@georgiansforaffordableenergy.org.
And again, thank you. The silver linings to this ordeal were the large amount of community support and the raised awareness for the November 2025 PSC elections which were hugely successful. The donations and comments were amazing. It meant more than you will ever know. Thank you.
