Wow, isn’t this wild sitting here to begin typing something like this. As I begin to write, I can’t help but feel extreme gratitude that the reason I am writing this is to help (financially) support the most amazing human I know, who I am lucky enough to be able to still call and talk to everyday, my sister. This past September, their lives were flipped completely upside down when Jenn was diagnosed with breast cancer. Everything was put on hold (although Jenn did a darn good job of making sure that didn’t happen for their two little boys) when she underwent an intense regimen of chemotherapy, in turn causing her to stop work due to the nasty side effects. After chemo was completed, rather than being able to return to work, she then had a double mastectomy at the end of February and still has one more surgery to go this summer. She will also continue immunotherapy every three weeks until October. Jenn returned back to work a couple weeks ago, for a short while, but now faces the M A N Y medical bills that are continuing to pile up due to all of the treatments, medications, and surgeries needed while being off of work. They were lucky enough to have insurance and receive some disability from the state but even then, it’s still a tremendous amount of medical bills. Right when they are ready to get back to celebrating life and being thankful she is okay, the burden of the medical bills will continue to hold them down. So many people have already been beyond supportive to her, her family, and even myself. It’s amazing how much people show up in time of need and support. We are truly grateful. For those who have asked how they can help or want to help but didn’t/ don’t know how… I thought creating this opportunity for Jenn, Tristam and their boys would be a way to show them support as they navigate their way back to “reality.” Jenn and Tristam are some of the most generous people I know and have always been there for me whenever I’ve needed it. My hope for them is that this can help take even a little bit of the financial weight off their shoulders by reaching out to anyone who feels this is fitting in their lives to help out with. 🩷
