Hello! My name is Samantha Tweet and I am a trainer born and raised in Longview Washington! I am participating for the first time in the Retired Racehorse Projects Thoroughbred Makeover in Lexington Kentucky with my mare It’s Saul right! Or “Soul” as I call her.
The makeover is the largest Thoroughbred retraining competition in the world for recently-retired ex-racehorses.
The event is October 7-10th and we are working hard to be prepared mentally, physically and financially.
While I have much support in the training, conditioning and competing aspects, I have none financially. I decided to undergo this enormous goal with the reality that most of the cost couldn’t come from my pocket and I would HAVE to fundraise to get there.
The cost to travel to Kentucky for a horse and human, let alone the entry fees, hotel, feed etc is roughly $10,000. I know I probably won’t meet my entire goal for fundraising but anything helps get us closer to the makeover!
