Help Save Our Family Home

Grateful for many blessings, but life just threw me a curve ball. Since my husband’s passing, taxes on my property (the family home) have gone from $1500/year to over $7,000/per year. I kept in touch frequently with my city’s tax collectors and was reassured that as long as I was making regular payments on back taxes owed, I’d be ok. I have done so. Unfortunately, the new administration here in New Britain has decided to force everyone to be current, including interest, within the year and I have received a letter from a lawyer. When speaking with him, he said the property would be auctioned off if I don’t make a 25% upfront payment and 11 monthly installments for the balance. I’d hoped/expected to remain here at my home for another ten years!
