Many of us have been watching the stories unfold from Hurricane Helene, the immense devastation to countless families, homes, and communities across the east will be felt for a significant amount of time. While we may not live in these areas, they are fellow Americans and we have the opportunity to come together and make a real difference. We are excited to announce IE constructions new initiative, Hope for Helene: the Hurricane Helene Relief Fundraiser.
During this campaign, we’re raising vital funds for disaster relief efforts for real communities who’s homes are cover in thick mud, residents are living in temporary shelters as temperatures are plummeting, and many are facing the total loss of their home, businesses and loved ones. In the immediate aftermath many of the roads were blocked and destroyed by the floods, so people have been going in on anything they can, horses, atvs, personal aircraft to get medical supplies, water, and provisions to people along with doing welfare checks for families that were desperately trying to find their loved ones. We want to come along side their clean up efforts! IE Construction will be pledging to a match donations made by our employees and customers – doubling the impact of every dollar given. We are looking for more pledges from our partners to help us come together in community to make an even bigger impact.
This is a moment where our collective efforts can help restore hope, and provide ways for these people to rebuild their lives. Many don’t have the funds to rent the equipment necessary to clean up, so we are coming alongside Blue-ridge Waymakers, a grassroots community organization that was born from this disaster and has stepped up to become a force in these highly impacted communities. 100% of money raised will go towards this project with 100% of the donations going directly back to local communities around the Burnsville and Yancey county area.
Immediate needs where the funds will be going:
- Machine rental for cleanup
- Gas
- Manpower
- Thanksgiving dinner for the community
- Funds requested by families in need
