Okay everyone, it is time. After starting my career as a young, fresh, new hairstylist in 2014 out of Yuma School of Beauty in Arizona, here I am now in Portland, Oregon: an independent stylist, with my 10 year goal of opening up my own hair studio in 2024 in sight. It's been quite the journey. When I came to Portland for the first time in 2015, I was here for a short summer stint and got hired at a Bishop's Barbershop. I felt quite accepted by the Portland/Beaverton community and clients and that blew my mind lol. You see, in Arizona I was always told I was weird, unique, eclectic, a hipster...etc. Turns out I'm just a human and there are many others like me.
I've always felt a little out of place and clumsy and awkward in traditional hair salon spaces, so it was really important to me to provide services in a space where people could walk in and feel comfortable to be themselves. I'm going to develop an inclusive hair studio space where you don't have to question if you're in the right spot or worry you're going to break something lol. I'd like everyone who walks in to feel at ease and comfortable and know that this is your time to get taken care of and receive quality hair services. I'd like to give back and show appreciation for your monetary support by offering tiered incentives as follows:
- Tier 1-$100 donation or more and you will receive a complimentary 5 minute hot-towel neck massage with your haircuts through my first year of opening.
- Tier 2- $200 donation or more will receive tier 1 incentive and grandfather in haircuts at my current rates (Short cut $55 or Long cut $65) for up to 6 haircuts. Your name will also be recognized on my founders wall.
- Tier 3- $300 donation or more will receive both tier 1 and 2 incentives as well as a complimentary birthday deluxe haircut service, product of choice and a small photo in the studio.
*All donors will be entered in a drawing to receive a complimentary haircut service at my new business.
I'm also offering subscriptions of 6 or 12 haircuts that will be pre-paid at my current rates (Short cut $55 or Long cut $65) and if you choose to re-subscribe you will be able to keep the same rates from before the latest price increase.
