My name is Natacha Malave, and I wear many hats: high school student, Teacher Academy participant, published children’s book author, and fervent foster-care awareness advocate. I am deeply committed to education, supporting children, and empowering young people to see the potential in themselves and their futures.
My journey is not just one of personal growth but also a testament to resilience. Growing up in foster care taught me the invaluable importance of having people who believe in you and support you, and it showed me that your circumstances do not define your life’s trajectory. Inspired by these experiences, I am committed to using my voice to uplift others, particularly children and teenagers who are facing their own challenges.
My passion for education has been a guiding force in my life. My dream is to become a teacher, a passion nurtured through the Teacher Academy, where I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of education in the lives of young students. Working with children has reinforced my conviction that education is a powerful change agent.
In tandem with my educational efforts, I authored "All Families Are Unique," a children’s book born from my foster-care experiences. This work aims to teach children that families may vary in appearance but can equally be havens of love, support, and belonging. Through my writing, community efforts, and participation in Educators Rising, I am sharing my story and impacting lives on a national scale.
As I move forward with my education and career aspirations, I am dedicated to championing the needs of children and teenagers who seek support and advocacy. I personally understand how life-changing it can be when someone believes in you and invests in your potential.

This collaboration provides funds for national awards, and in addition, both Miss America's/Miss America's Teen State Scholarships and the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement. The American Heart Association's Go Red for Women is Miss America's Scholarship Foundation's national health thought leader. All above mentioned entities are 501(c)(3) organizations and all donations to this campaign are fully tax-deductible per IRS regulations.
